and as an avid traveller, I believe that there becomes a real need to re-think the way that we encounter & create allergen symbols. When native to the country,
and when speaking said native language, we tend to overlook the idea of allergen labels on food, drink, and menu labels being written in said native language,
But what about tourists, immigrants, or international students, unable to read or translate said allergen labels?
I propose a new system for allergen symbology. I create a concept - eleven scanable QR code symbols, that serve to translate the said re-imagined allergen
icons, into whatever language that the user would be most comfortable using. The idea is that when scanning the icons, it will translate the main allergens in
said food or drink packaging into the selected language. Using black and white symbols printed onto packaging, I believe that this would serve to aid in
print and production overheads as well, becoming a real concept to reimaging and allergen branding and labels.
